So all I want for Christmas is a picture with all 4 of my children looking in the general direction of the camera. This task becomes more difficult every year (probably because I not only procrastinate, but I only give myself a 10 minute window to capture my kids at their best...they need more time!). Fortunately I did get some great individual shots. I do think my kids are adorable...I mean look at my Sunny Bunny...stinkin' cute!

Here Piggy Piggy

So I am back to eating like a normal person...and the Festival of Food is over. I swear I think I need to join Overeaters Anonymous. I fit the description..."Compulsive Overeaters will typically eat when they are not hungry, spend excessive amounts of time and thought devoted to food, and secretly plan or fantasize about eating...". The amount of food that I consumed last week is, quite frankly, disturbing. For example, over a 3 1/2 day period I had Nielsen's Frozen Custard 5 (okay so maybe it was 5 1/2) times...mind you I didn't go to Nielsen's 2 days out of the 3 1/2. I made Justin stop there before we even went to see family (I know priorities!). I decided to share the experience with my kids...they loved it and it was a great motivator for the drive over ("if you kids are really good we are going to take you to a magical place where all your dreams will come true...okay we'll take you where all Mommy's dreams come true").
We had a wonderful time with Grandma Jeanie and Grandpa Bill (down from Canada); the cousins; we even got to see Ron,Vanessa and the girls; and of course Nana and Papa! We gobbled (see above), trotted (numerous Turkey Trots), danced (the girls put on a recital for Grandma and Grandpa), sang (always fun with Grandma Jeanie at the piano), and just had a great time! We were reminded of all that we are grateful for: family, health, and of course... obscene amounts of food!

Doris & Rock

So the other night I watched (not my first time mind you) "Lover Come Back". I love Doris Day and Rock Hudson. I love Doris' wardrobe, the jackets and the hats are something else! I love the chemistry between Doris and Rock (I realize they...or at least Rock is acting...too bad). I love the corny lines and the soft focus whenever the camera pans to Doris Day. So I want to say thank you Mom for instilling in me a love for all things Doris and Rock...I'll have to rent "Pillow Talk" next (my favorite!).

Tag...you're it!
I have been tagged so here we go...
Here are the rules: A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asks them to read your blog.
1. I like going to movies by myself (of course I haven't been in an actual movie theater lately). I know that I will now probably be labeled a loser, but I find it comforting to sit by myself in a dark theater, eating something chocolatey while watching a movie...preferably a drama.
2. I love to read...I usually have about 7-10 books on my nightstand at all times. I love to read paperback books...I like the way they feel in my hands. I love to buy books (Costco, Target, Borders, Amazon are my usual spots)...I would rather buy books than clothes! I have been in the same book club for over 8 years.
3. Most people know this about me, but I do not like raspberries or pears (notice the word "rasp" in raspberries...as in "raspy"). I will eat them if they are in front of me, but I do not like them Sam I Am! I clearly know that this means I am crazy...I have been trying to like them for 30+ years...maybe next year.
4. I am a chocoholic...I know many of you are too. My drugs of choice are m&ms (peanut butter or peanut), Kissables (or Kissables chubby cousin Hershey's Chocolate Eggs...only available at Easter), or heck anything related to chocolate...I'll even eat a Tootsie Roll if I get desperate!
5. I look like a baby giraffe when I run...not exactly the look I am going for.
6. I love "The Office". This show brings me joy!
I tag: Melissa, Laura, Heidi, Michelle, Natalie, Hannah

Brothers
I found this quote the other day...
"With you as my brother, the baseballs flew further, the rocks skipped forever, and the stars didn't seem so far away."
I just love watching these two little buddies.

Adam the Swimmer...Minnie the Entrepreneur
Adam had his 2nd swim meet this last Saturday. He swam 5 races (50 free, 50 back, 50 fly, 50 breaststroke, 100 im) and did a great job! I wish I could have captured a better picture of him doing the backstroke...he was smiling the whole time...Uncle Chris would be so proud.
He looked so cute/skinny in his jammers...I swear his knees are the widest part of his legs! He only had about 5-10 minutes between races so he would lie down on the "warm" cement and cover himself with a towel...he has shivering down to an art form.
Today I took Minnie, Sunny and Jack to Target with me. I know...I wasn't thinking...a Mother (especially this Mother) should not take 3 children with her to Target...but I did. The girls went wild! I threatened, but nothing calmed the little women. After I finally wrangled them into the car we got home and had the whole "THIS IS HOW WE SHOULD ACT IN PUBLIC" seminar (of course I gave this little lecture in a very calm, loving way...even though we have this discussion at least twice a month). I thought it went pretty well (I think they were a little stunned by my passion for the subject...apparently I wasn't as calm or as loving as they thought I should be).
Minnie then decided to share with me one of her "great" ideas (this girl has a lot of ideas...pretty good ideas most of the time).
"I know Mommy how about we come up with a chart" (one of her favorite idea accessories) "and keep track of how good we are. How about for every 10 minutes we are good we get a quarter!"
"So let me get this straight," I asked "you want me to pay you to be good?"
Minnie is going to get back to me with a new/better "great" idea!
