Little Women
I have 4 little girls in my home this week. My sister and I are swapping kids multiple times this summer. We're calling it the Great Cousin Swap of '09. While Adam is enjoying guy time with Mitch, I have Elli and Bethie. Today, after baking and reading a little "Little Women", we had a tea party. I am enjoying having 4 heads of hair to play with. I can't wait for all the fun we are going to have this week. The girls are calling...I need to go watch yet, another play in the backyard.

The Big 3.5
We celebrated Jack's half birthday this week. We decided to have a "half" party because he is a December baby and his big day gets lost in the shuffle of the Christmas season. He had his friends Luke and Sam (aka "the pardners") over for a Pirate/Diego/Dinosaur pancake breakfast and party. I'm sure the neighbors enjoyed the shouts of joy. Good times.

Crawling - Thomas
Reading Olympics - Minnie
Many lost teeth - Adam
Many new teeth - Thomas, Adam and Sunny
Swimming lessons - Minnie, Sunny and Jack

Trip to Urgent Care for a "Facial Laceration" (nothing a little Super Glue can't hold together) - Thomas...thanks to Jack
Well, that is the quick version of our last month. I wish I had more pictures, but hopefully this month will be better...the kids will be out of school...oh, who am I kidding!?

Get Out the Flour and Hide the Camera
I have been baking lately. Last night I made pipin' hot french bread. J pronounced it "delicious". My friend Candice sent this recipe to me over 10 years ago and I finally got over my fear of baking with yeast and made it. Here you go...
Quick and Easy French Bread
3 c. warm water
2 pkgs. yeast
2 T. sugar
Let the yeast "bloom" for a few minutes and add to:
1 T. salt
8 c. flour
6 T. oil (I used olive)
Mix together in mixer. Let rise until doubled (30 minutes). Divide in half and shape into 2 loaves on a cookie sheet. Score on top. Let rise for 15-20 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Brush tops with butter.
On a side note. Be careful who you lend your camera to. They might use it to update their modeling portfolio. You both know I have a blog...you can hardly blame me for sharing. Thanks for the laugh guys.

Spring Fever
Last week was our Spring Break. We didn't do much. The boys were sick (fever and flu) and Adam is even now trying to overcome pneumonia. The cousins kept their distance and we had a very quiet Easter. I would have taken a picture of all the kids, but the boys stayed in their pjs all day. At least the girls looked sweet. I missed going to church, but we had our own quiet Easter celebration last night. We are hoping that this week will be happier for the kids...and for me!
