Don't Mess With the Pants

When Justin was 12 years old he lived in Arizona. He played baseball. His team was called "McCain's Navy". Can you guess who sponsored the team? The "sponsor" purchased the team shirts (see the picture below), but declined to buy the team pants (J's mom took pity and kindly supplied pants for the team). Some may say the sponsor was being frugal. Justin will tell you the sponsor was just being cheap. Apparently, after waiting 25 years, Justin is ready to make the "sponsor" pay. That's right McCain...you most likely lost a vote. J is moving to the Dark Side.

It's a...

BOY!

Thomas Richard Bird was born September 25th at 4:07 am. The labor and delivery went amazingly well...the best yet. He weighed in at 8 lbs. 8 oz. making him our largest baby Bird. He already has quite a few people wrapped around his very long little finger (this kid is all hands and feet). The boys are happy to outnumber the girls. The girls are happy to have a baby doll to play with. We just love him!

Minnie Is Official

We had a great Saturday. Nana and Papa came with our cousins from the east for a quick trip to the beach and a beautiful baptism. It was a perfect day.

Happy Birthday Wild Thing

Eight years ago a Minnie Wild Thing was born.

She grew. As she grew her hair faded and grew taller... and taller. There were good days.
There were bad days.

But, always there was...The Hair.
There were days of joy.

Followed by days of despair. Remember the self-inflicted mullet and Mulan's banishment?!

Our Minnie Wild Thing rarely makes appearances these days. To the Hair...I say, thank you...it has been a LOT of fun. To the little girl beneath it...I say, thank you for the sweetness you have brought into my life. Happy 8th Birthday Minnie. Mommy loves you.

New clothes...New shoes

Today, after a fun summer that seemed too short, the kids went back to school...always a little bitter sweet.
I've already cleaned out the garage this morning...let the nesting begin!
